TV has made the average American teenager a....loser. Honestly, if the expectation of a typical teenager is idiocy, rebellion, and immorality then I am waaaay off the mark. I love being a teenager, it is great! I know once I head off to college I can kiss this easy life goodbye. But the sorry truth is that parents and adults in general expect TO LITTLE from teenagers. What should they ACTUALLY expect? Well, how about a respectful young adult? Stop using the excuse "they are just trying to find themselves." So they have to sacrifice their purity, destroy their bodies with foreign substances, accept false ideologies and beliefs, AND act like an idiot to "find themselves?" I mean, sure, teenagers are young and naive, but don't give them a free ticket to potentially destroy their lives to learn the hard way. Teach them early in life. Like my parents did. Look at me now, here I come world! (yeah...right)
Even if you are a Christian family there are so many teenagers who have fallen into the same hole secular teenagers fall into. Parents (are there any parents who read this?) please teach your kids EARLY. Teach them what? Teach them everything you can find in the Bible. And that will take a lifetime so get to it.
"Alright guys, I am sooo ready to go to the movies!"
"Let's go!"
"....Wait, how are we getting there without a car?"
"Oh, well...my dad is gonna take us..."
"Ohhhh, well this sucks."
~Teenagers getting owned...by theselves
AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh man, too good. One last point. Why does every single teenager detest the idea of hanging out with their parents and friends? Parents are essential, they love and care for you. You say you are embarrassed of your parents? Really? Shame on you.
haha, what shall i talk about!!
ReplyDeletecrazy post, bro. don't forget now that you're getting older to go to the Word too. hide it in your heart, let God plant seeds of wisdom, and most importantly have faith that He brings us to completion in Jesus.
