TheWonderfulNotion

What a great week! If I had to scale this week with a score between 1 and 10 it would be an easy 5! Now I wont tell you if 1 is better or 10. You will just have to figure that one out. Isn't that so diplomatic of me? So last week was filled with school, more school, some work, a party celebrating my friends 16th birthday, and church. Well, school is the same. However, the birthday party at my friends abode was quite interesting! Hanging out with four other teenagers that have grown up in a different atmosphere is somewhat eye-opening.

What I mean is that they all hold different political, religious, and moral standings to me. Is it bad that I even communed with these people? I think not. I would say it shed some light on my obliviousness of the real world, and how gullible and naive the human can really be. Am I stating I was far superior to them in intellect and wisdom? Yes.

"How can you say such things? You are a cruel elitist!"

"Oh am I Ms. Wellington? Well I can explain my reasoning."

"Really? I somehow doubt your infinite wisdom and intellect, boy."

"Well, I would to if I wasn't me. But it so happens I am. And since I am me and I know a lot about me, I can safely assume I was wiser. Of course I will never say that out loud, that would make me an elitist. Just because I think I am smarter and wiser doesn't mean I am a jerk, it just means that I am!"

~A short and uneventful dialogue with Missingnomer and Ms. Wellington

Okay, lemme explain. Just because I think that I was smarter (well maybe not "smarter") and wiser then them doesn't mean I think myself above them. By all means they were all my seniors by one year, excluding my friend. They were raised in and out of public schools. They grew up with and around their peers. My blessing as a homeschooler is the blessing of maturity. Since I don't hang out with my peers that often, I end up spending time with my parents and adults of respect and wisdom. To be honest, teenagers aren't very wise, or smart for that matter. If you hang out with naive people, you are naive. If you hang out with wise people, well, you get wise. A little adage of mine, if you will. And with that I close and wish my dear readers a great week. Try spending some time with your folks.

DISCLAIMER- Now most of you might now think of me as someone who is snotty, bratty, and unreasonable. That isn't the case. I am a teenager, and I have much to learn. Too much to learn. I am naive and arrogant. But with homeschooling it really helps you look at everything in a different light. Besides, Ms. Wellington was getting on my nerves.
